Medicare Certified and State Licensed

Medicare CertifiedAt Allegiance Home Health & Rehab, we prides ourselves on the stellar quality of service we provide to each of our customers. That high standard of care is officially recognized by Medicare and the state of Florida with Medicare Certification and state licensure.

What Does Medicare Certification Mean?

Medicare certification and state licensure mean three things for Allegiance's clients:

Our quality of care has been closely assessed by the Florida State Department of Health and has received their seal of approval in the form of state licensing.

We have met the stringent requirements set out by Medicare for state licensing, administration, breadth of clinical services, and standard of excellence.

As a result of these qualifications, it is possible for many of our clients to have their home health care needs paid for (in full or in part) by Medicare, insurance coverage, or VA aid.

What Medicare and State Licensure Mean for You and Your Loved One

Because Allegiance is Medicare certified, it's possible for many of our clients to have their home care services paid for by government Medicare, and for others to receive insurance or VA aid coverage.

In order to qualify for coverage of home care services, Medicare requires that you meet four qualifications:

  • A doctor must prescribe home care and specify the services that are needed.
  • Coverage is only available to patients receiving skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy.
  • The home care agency you choose must be Medicare certified to qualify for coverage.
  • The senior receiving care must be homebound, defined as leaving your home less frequently due to your present condition and a taxing effort to leave home, such as requiring a cane, walker, or other assistance for mobility. Medicare allows you to leave your home for reasons such as religious worship, getting your hair done, medical appointments or to avoid cabin fever.

Clients who meet all of these requirements are eligible for Medicare coverage of their Allegiance home care services. Medicare will pay for medical supplies, equipment such as walkers and canes, certain drugs, counseling, and medical care from a nurse or therapist, but will not pay for the work of unskilled home aides unless they are assisting a registered nurse or supplementing the support of another trained medical professional. Medicare won't cover 24-hour care, meal delivery services, or homemaker services, but it does provide for the medical and personal needs of seniors who have been instructed by their doctors to obtain home care.

In cases where Medicare won't pay for services, insurance companies or VA aid will often cover costs due to Allegiance’s Medicare certification. For more information about Medicare, state licensing, and insurance and payment options, please contact us today.
