Speech Therapists are trained therapist who specialize in speech. They work with patients to regain or increase their ability to communicate. The Speech Therapists work closely with your doctor to create a comprehensive therapy plan based on the patients illness, disability, the extent of the impairment and the patients home environment. Therapy includes working with patient and caretaker(s) to train in repetitive exercises and the use of speech devices.

Patients who benefit from Speech Therapy include those who may have or had:

• Stuttering or other similar problems when talking
• Trauma resulting in loss of speech
• Stroke resulting in loss of speech
• Surgery of the mouth or throat

Home Care

At Allegiance Home Health and Rehab, Inc, we offer Speech Therapy in your home setting. Our Therapist performs home evaluation, train caregivers as well as provide in home therapy treatments.

Services provided are

• Patient evaluation
• Collaborative treatment planning with patient’s physician
• Exercise training for patient and caretaker(s)
• Speech device training.

Home Care Coverage

All patients are subject to eligibility standard and homebound requirements. Each patient case is reviewed to assure that patient will benefit significantly, and that the home environment can be established as safe, effective place to perform therapy and maintenance sessions.
