Allegiance Home Health and Rehab is enormously proud to offer Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (or PMHNP) care as part of our services. A PMHNP focuses on helping their patients cope with different psychiatric disorders and illnesses. This can include mood disorders, substance abuse, anxiety, and depression.
Dedicated to Psychiatric Wellness
These professionals track their patient’s progress before and during treatment to provide holistic, high-quality care. PMHNPs have the choice of working in private practices, prisons, or mental health facilities, and require a master’s degree in nursing or a doctor of a nursing practice, so we feel privileged that so many incredibly talented PMHNPs have partnered with Allegiance Home Health for the sake of helping you.
Skilled and Capable
PMHNPs can prescribe drugs in the state of Florida, rounding out their responsibilities of evaluating and diagnosing patients, as well as treating them with psychotherapy, with a focus on holistic approaches to healthcare. The difference between a PMHNP and Psychologist is that psychologists have focused on diagnostic testing to achieve their Ph.D. or Psy.D-level of education, while PMHNPs interpret tests and prescribe meds.
